Elaine F. Reasons

Elaine Freeman Reasons, age 84, of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 25, 2024, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. She was the loving wife of Kent Reasons, with whom she shared 62 years of a loving and joyful marriage. 

Born in Martin, TN, Elaine was the daughter of TC Freeman and Blanche (Brooks) Freeman. Elaine grew up and went to school in rural west Tennessee graduating from the University of Tennessee Martin where she met and married Kent, the love of her life. Elaine and Kent then attended graduate school at UT Knoxville where their first son was born. Elaine quickly realized her passion for motherhood, adding three sons to their family while moving to Wilmington, Delaware; Sunnyvale, California; Tokyo, Japan; and then residing in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. 

Elaine and Kent raised four energetic sons keeping Elaine busy as she guided her family to remember what we cherish most: faith, family, and love in this complex world. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Elaine will be remembered for her strength and support of her family, putting others in front of herself with love and care. Elaine, beautiful, strong, and unassuming, showed us all the meaning of courage regardless of life's challenges. Always pressing on, Elaine was our family's guiding light and our inspiration. 

Elaine took joy in service at her boy's schools and their many sports and recreational activities. While in Tokyo, Elaine enjoyed many Japanese cultural activities while serving as PTA President at The American School of Japan. While living in Kennett Square, Elaine volunteered for 22 years at Longwood Gardens as a greeter in the Main Conservatory. She was also active in the Chadds Ford Area Women’s Club for 40 years, serving as president two different times. 

Elaine will be dearly missed by her family and friends but always remembered and we will see her again in God's grace when we are called Home. Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church in Kennett Square, PA. 

In addition to her husband, Kent, Elaine is survived by her sons, Scott Reasons (Cindy), Bryan Reasons (Carrie), Todd Reasons (Kerri), and Tyler Reasons (Channeary); her grandchildren, Devin (Savannah), Meghan (Michael Gore), Luke, Shane, Greyson, Katie, Kolby, Kevin, Kyle, Kayla, and Kaitlyn; and great-grandchildren, Henry and Anna Grace Elaine. 

You are invited to visit with Elaine’s family and friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Kennett Square, 415 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Her Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will be at Longwood Cemetery, 945 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
