Gordon B. Hetherston

     Gordon B. Hetherston, age 68, of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 24, 2023, at his home in Landenberg, PA. He was the spouse of Caryn (Leuteritz) Hetherston, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John Hetherston and Gene (Hattersley) Hetherston.  

      Gordon worked as a Systems Engineer for the DuPont company until his retirement in 2016. In his spare time, he enjoyed beekeeping, a hobby he engaged in for over 30 years.  In addition, he was an enthusiastic volunteer and avid supporter of the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia, PA, and the Newark Arts Alliance.  He also was on the B40 committee, a group that wrote safety standards for hoists and cranes. He took this very seriously as it helped save lives. 

     Gordon will be remembered for his kindness, attention to details, and love of family. He adored spending time at the family camp in Quebec, Canada, and spent much of his time there fixing things and making improvements. He would get up early some mornings to take family members out on the lake fishing when the water was calm and peaceful . Not every time would fish be caught but everyone treasured this time with him. Whatever he was interested in - cars, beekeeping,  building and fixing things, or planning vacations - he gave 100% and excelled in following through. 

     He will be missed most for his generosity and kindness, ability  to adapt to challenging problems, and being a wonderful loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
