Judith Nicewonger

Judith Gail Nicewonger, age 84, of Hockessin, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at The Summit Senior Living in Hockessin, DE.  She was the wife of Richard D. Nicewonger, with whom she shared sixty years of marriage.

Born in Bridgeton, NJ she was the only child of Joseph G. Entrikin and Dorothy (Kennedy) Entrikin of Vineland, NJ.

Judith graduated from Philadelphia College of the Bible, and Taylor University. She earned a BA in early childhood education from Taylor University. Judy loved teaching and found many opportunities to help children learn and grow throughout her life. From working in the public schools to teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School in many different churches.

Richard and Judy spent the majority of their lives in New Baltimore, NY. A large farmhouse and plenty of land to explore and roam was the perfect place to raise their family. Judy’s life was guided by a deep and abiding faith in the person of Jesus Christ. She worked to have that faith serve as a compass for how she moved through the world. Most recently, Judy was a member of First Baptist Church of Kennett Square.

Judy was known to be an avid knitter and crafter. As dementia slowly robbed her of much, she continued to knit. The Albany Rescue Mission and JAM Daycare were the recipients of a continual flow of baby hats, blankets, and booties.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Daniel (Nancy), Phillip (Faith), Kevin (Meghan); five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
