Kevin G. Kelleher

Kevin Gerard Kelleher, age 66, formerly of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 21, 2025, from complications due to chronic lymphocytic leukemia. He was the very loving husband of Leigh (Thompson) Kelleher, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, DE, he is the son of Anna (Pratola) Kelleher and the late Robert Kelleher. 

Kevin graduated from Kennett High School in 1976 and the University of Delaware in 1980. He spent his working years at Delmarva Power and Chatham Financial until his retirement in 2011. Over the years, Kevin coached volleyball for many seasons at Unionville High School and volunteered as a tutor for first and second graders in Kennett schools. He was a faithful member of the Willowdale Chapel, where he was active on the worship team for 35 years playing percussion. Kevin was an active member of several local bands, including one he founded in his barn. There, he and his musician friends entertained family and friends until he and Leigh moved to Jenner’s Pond in 2024. 

Kevin and Leigh and their family lived most of their lives in Kennett Square. They were blessed with a wide variety of friends from multiple circles. Kevin made it a point to stay in touch with people he worked with and knew over his 66 years of life. He will be remembered most for being an exceptional husband and father, his devotion to his immediate and extended families, his quick wit and humor, and his love of music. He had a deep faith in the Lord and shared his laughter and love with all those in his wide circle of friends. 

In addition to his wife, Kevin is survived by his daughters, Caitlin Paul (Luke) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Beth Frezzo (Vincent) of Landenberg, PA; his mother; and a brother, Fr. Mark Kelleher. He had five grandsons whom he adored: Travis, Tyler, and Nathan Paul; and Dominic and Rocco Frezzo. 

You are invited to visit with Kevin’s family and friends on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 PM and on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Willowdale Chapel, 675 Unionville Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348. His Life Celebration service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be private.
