On January 27, 2023, Maryjane Rose Facer, age 5, gained her wings after a long hard fight to stage 5 cancer.
On August 21, 2017, Katyrose Veinot and Tyler Facer welcomed their beautiful, bright baby girl into the world. Maryjane had a beautiful life that was taken far too soon. At only the age of four, right after she graduated preschool and had big dreams of heading off to kindergarten, she was rushed to the hospital where Maryjane was diagnosed with bilateral teratoid Williams Tumors with diffuse anaplasia, both of which were extremely rare. Maryjane had to face months of radiation, numerous amounts of chemo, other super intense rare treatments, multiple surgeries, and back-to-back sedated scans on her seven-month journey. Over those seven months, Maryjane had her fifth birthday, learned to ride a big girl bike, got to go on a make-a-wish trip, and spent her last Christmas being showered with love by the community when they hosted a Christmas drive-by for her. Santa even came and supplied Christmas gifts for the entire family and then got to ring in the new year one last time with her loved ones.
Though most of her year was spent in the hospital, and she wasn’t able to do the many things you should as a five-year-old, that never stopped her spirit and you would never know how bad she was hurting. She was a sassy little girl with a huge personality. She was a very bright light in the dark and had a very strong intuition. Her love for everything in this world was so strong. She appreciated the sun, the sky, rocks, flowers, birds, the way the wind blew through the trees, and how the colors changed in the Fall. The little things in life made her happy and were always noticed in her eyes. She loved dressing herself in many bright colors and vibrant designs and of course, her unicorn robe. She always made sure to pack up her bags with all of her lovies every time she went somewhere! Maryjane never stopped smiling no matter what she was facing, always thought of others, and never complained. The way her laugh echoed in a room would fill everyone with joy. She always had the best stories and funniest jokes she would make up anything she could to entertain you.
Maryjane became a big sister of twin baby girls, McKenna and Jordan, at only 18 months old! She was so always so kind and loving with them. Being a big sister was her biggest accomplishment. She was always willing to help with anything they needed and helped them learn. The bond between the three of them was so unique and special. The girls have many memories of playing for hours with one another, writing songs, making up dances, building forts, bubble baths, doing art, and most importantly their bedtime routine. Maryjane would come in at night and read them a story and would rub their backs for a few minutes. This was just one example of how caring she was.
Maryjane always put others’ feelings before herself, she was a huge empath. She often felt others’ emotions around her and hated when people were feeling down. Maryjane always knew how to make you feel better, and if she didn’t know how to make you smile, she would surely figure it out! She loved spending time with her family and her many cousins. Maryjane had a huge interest in animals, going on walks and looking at nature, riding her bike, reading, helping to cook and clean, and she loved more than anything to learn. She wasn’t your average kid. Many would say after meeting Maryjane that she was a very wise, unique individual and she sure left her mark on this world. Though she left us so soon, the color blue (her favorite color) will remind us of her. Anytime we see a unicorn or a gorgeous sunset, we know it’s Maryjane saying hello. May Heaven be good to you, beautiful girl, and may you always rest in peace.
Maryjane is survived by many family and friends who loved her beyond measure.
