Sonia Iagovino

     Sonia Lemos Iagovino, age 49, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on July 16, 2023, in Lewes, Delaware. She was the loving wife of Joel Iagovino, with whom she shared two years of marriage and nine years of companionship. Born in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of Vivian Perez Lemus and the late Jose Lemus and the beloved mother of Kiara and Orlando Burgos. 

     Many know of Sonia and her husband as business owners of a technology company, JSI Group in Wilmington, Delaware. Although those she employed would say it was more than that; she created a home. Sonia took a lot of pride not in having a successful business or profiting, but in providing for those she cared for. 

   Even in her spare time, Sonia’s favorite activities were crafting and decorating her home for any upcoming holiday. She loved capturing the spirit of each holiday and bringing it to life in her home for others to gather and enjoy. Sonia’s greatest joy in life was bringing joy to others.  

   She will be remembered most for her selfless, forgiving, and generous nature. She was more than a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend; she was our angel. 

    In addition to her husband, mother, and children, Sonia is survived by her mother, Vivian Perez Lemus; by her siblings, Eddie Diaz, Jose (Nino) Lemus, Armando (Mando) Lemus, Maria ‘Sandee’ Lemus, and Carmen ‘Teddy’ Lemus; by nieces and nephews, Michael Young, Lissette Lemus, Jalexa Molina, Selena Ortega, Alyssa Ortega, Jonathon Ortega, Max Ortega; and many more. 

    You are invited to visit with Sonia’s family and friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Trinity Community Church, 6580 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.  Her funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.
